National Security Issues, Illegal Immigration

There are so many issues to discuss under the heading of National Security it's tough to know where to start.
A) Illegal Immigration
B) Mexican Drug Cartels and the Zetas
C) Oil
D) Economic Issues
E) The Mosque at Ground Zero
F) Iran and Nuclear Weapons
G) North Korea
H) People's Republic of China

Mr. President, take heed. We, the citizens of our great nation have concerns about each and every one of these issues. And you, the American people need to read and study not only the Constitution, but the Declaration of Independence and the writings of Thomas Jefferson. In a letter Jefferson wrote to William S. Smith on 13 Nov 1787, he mentions a number of items that are applicable today.
"...What we have lately read in the history of Holland, in the chapter on the Stadtholder, would have sufficed to set me against a Chief magistrate eligible for a long duration..." Does this sound familiar? Go back to the Constitution, where does it say Federal Judges are appointed for life?
"...The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves." Forgetting the anarchy portion of this quote, it sounds like what the government has done to the media of the 21st Century and to us, doesn't it?
"...The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty." Does this sound like the apathy our country 'enjoys' today?
"...What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure."  Mr. Obama and friends should definitely understand this paragraph. Am I saying we should rebel? No. What I'm quoting is the 3rd President of the United States giving advice to the 44th President of the United States.

Illegal immigration is an anathema to this nation, and could take it away from us. Most people thinking of illegal immigration automatically think of Mexicans on our border states. Don't. They are only part of the problem. Chinese on the West Coast, Russians on the East Coast, Cubans and Haitians in Florida. What about terrorists, do they apply for a Visa? 'What's your reason for wanting to visit the United States? Oh, I just want to blow myself up in a shopping mall.' Three of the Four pilots in the 9/11 attack were illegals. The Department of Homeland Security in it's report A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border states that, in 2005, 850 illegals were apprehended at the border. Sure it's a small number, but they were all from nations with strong terrorist ties. How many didn't get caught? That was five years ago, how many have come across since? "As noted in a June 2006 article, Broken, by Kenneth R. Timmerman, on a Homeland Security publication, 'The report reveals that 45,008 aliens from countries on the U.S. list of state-sponsors of terror or from countries that protected terrorist organizations and their members, were released into the general public between 2001 and 2005, even though immigration officers couldn't confirm their identity.' (emphasis added) Maybe Bin Laden is not in Pakistan ..." (From the "The Dark Side Of Illegal Immigration", you can find it at http://www.usillegalaliens.com/impacts_of_illegal_immigration_terrorism.html.

In 2004, the Department of Homeland Security apprehended 65,814 "other than Mexicans" being smuggled across our Southwest Border, and they admit that they only catch 1/3 of those people trying to cross. How many are terrorists?

"In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to suitcase nukes that were developed by U.S. and Soviet forces during the Cold War. Reliable sources, including Hans Blix of the United Nations, have confirmed that bin Laden purchased several of these devices from the Chechen rebels in 1996. According to Sharif al-Masri and other al Qaeda operatives who have been taken into custody, several of these weapons have been forward deployed to the United States in preparation for al Qaeda's next attack on American soil." (December 2006 article in the Canada Free Press, Spy Death by Nuclear Poisoning Tied to American Hiroshima)

Now, how do you feel about illegal immigration? Here is my viewpoint. Every illegal alien apprehended by any LEO who is not guilty of a felony should be deported, including those who are here on Visas that have expired and the parents of anchor babies, along with the babies themselves. Those folks with jobs and employers who will sponsor them should be granted green cards. Those folks with jobs but no sponsors should be granted "guest worker" visas that have to be renewed every 120 days. (There is no such thing as a guest worker visa at this time.) Finish the southwestern fence. Use select National Guard troops to patrol from the border to ten miles inland, while the Border Patrol does the rest. The Army National Guard of the four southwestern border states boast of two infantry divisions, one infantry battalion, two companies of Green Berets, one transportation battalion, and an aviation regiment. The Air National Guard of those four states boast three reconnaissance wings, all equipped with the Predator UAV and one rescue wing. Additionally, the Texas State Guard, which cannot be deployed outside of the state, has two air wings, one medical brigade, and a maritime regiment that could all be used. The California State Military Reserve and the Arizona State Defense Force could also be utilized. None of these units require Federal activation. They can be mobilized by the Governors of the four states. The problem than becomes money. The Feds will not fund them, the states would have to. What would it cost to operate a Predator Wing for a year? More than California has in the bank!!

We need to take a hard line on the immigration issues and close the borders.

God Bless America.
