I served, as both a "White Hat" and an "O", in the US Navy for not quite 21 years. I also spent over 9 years as a professional Veteran's Advocate. I've testified before both the House and Senate Committees on Veteran Affairs, as well as other special Presidentially Appointed Commissions. I've served on Committees set up by the Secretary of Veteran Affairs, Secretary of Homeland Security, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Veteran Affairs.
I'm a combat vet, a disabled vet, an independent voter who's registered as a Republican. I've hosted a television interview show on CTV and written columns for the print media.
I know a lot of what's wrong with this country, and a lot of what's right with it. I don't pretend to know everything, but I have opinions on a lot of things, and "Gunner's Views" is where I choose to share them. If you agree, great. If you don't agree - tough - but we can discuss it.
